Oh, today is just FULL of Nathanisms and it's only 1:15pm. While Nathan is napping, I better get these in before the paper gets too full or I lose it.
1. I can't remember specifically what craft we were doing, but we were doing a craft and I commended Nathan on his good work. I said, "You're doin' good Nay Nay." He replied, "I'm doin' good me."
2. Nathan wanted to "flugtag" the crayon box off of the coffee table. I told him not to. He was trying to convince me that it would be okay if he did it softly. He said, with the sweetest little eyes, might I add, "sof-ily."
3. When pouring his milk this morning, it was coming out in gulps. You know, glub, glub, glub. Nathan noticed this and said, "The milk bumpy."
4. We painted some flowers, cut them out, and stuck a pipe cleaner in them to make a bouquet of flowers. After we finished, Nathan was holding all of them in a bunch. He said, "I hold tight to them. No one gonna get them."
5. Nathan was either stacking blocks or the Connect 4 Tokens {isn't it sad that only a few hours have passed and I seriously can't remember?!} He said, "I'm building it special for you, Mommy." Awwww...melted my heart!
6. I'm pretty sure he was stacking blocks on this one. He said, "I messed it up." I said, "That's okay." He said, "Mmmm Hmmm." :) He gets this mmm hmm from Caillou, I'm pretty sure.
7. Nathan's been getting his fair share of spankings when deserved. And in the last couple of days, he's played spankins. I'll be on my belly playing whatever game we are playing. He loses interest and decides to spank my bottom. He says, "Spankin's or I'm spankin you." Something along those lines. So, I pretend to cry. I say, "I don't like spankin's. Hold me, Daddy." {I say this because he always wants me to hold him after he gets his.} So, he hugs me and pats my back {just like I do to him to comfort him.} Then, while patting me, he softly and so sweetly says, "It be okay. It be okay."
8. Yesterday, we got a new-to-us washer and dryer. {our washer has been slowly dying. and the dryer had a little life left, but this was a great deal.} Anyway, a nice man delivered it and Nathan was not shy in talking to him one bit! He called him "Man." He continually said things, like, "What you doin', Man?" or "Where are you, Man?" The man was very nice and replied to him, describing what he was doing or saying, "I'm right here." The man asked Nathan how old he was and Nathan said, "Good." Then he man said, "How old are you?" Nathan said, "Two." It was so neat the way he talked and interacted with him.
9. Nathan earned a cookie for going pee pee in the potty today. While he was enjoying it, he held it up and said, "Just like at church." Church nursery offers cookies. He then said, "I cry at church." I asked him why. He said, after thinking for a brief second, "I want Daddy and Mommy." I explained that we were at big church and we are always going to come back and get him. It was a real, true conversation. One that he put thought into and everything. So precious.
