Sweet Sayings

Nathan is so full of life, expression, and energy!  He is a mocking bird, copying what he hears and sees.  He is loving and will kiss you.  He is rambunctious and will try to "bowl you over!"  He is sly and will try to get by with some mischief.  When he is found out, he quickly says, "I love you, Mommy," to soften the possible consequences.  Here are some really cute things that have been flying out of his mouth lately...by the way, this is, like, a 1% sampling of his spewings...they come just about every other word, which makes it hard to remember or race to write down.  Sometimes his sweet sayings come so quickly that I think, I should hurry and write that down, but then I decide to just enjoy it in that moment.  Here are some quips from the first quarter of 2013.  He is 3 years old.

1.  He calls GT and the Halo Express, "GT and the Holy Comspress."
2.  He is constantly in pretend mode.  Some of his favorite people/characters to pretend to be are:

a.  Brother Bear {from Berenstain Bears} and I am usually Sister Bear.  One night, he kept calling me into his room for various things, after we tucked him in for the night.  He didn't call for Mommy...he called, "Sis!"
b.  GT and I am Christy...he liked the "blue" CD where there were rats in Paul's prison cell and Christy is grossed out by them.  He took his Thomas the Train baseball bat, put it up to his eye and pretended to "comsplode" the rats.  Sometimes, I'm just Billy Baxter with my low voice and he is himself and we just talk.
c.  Huckle Cat {from Busytown Mysteries} and I am usually Sally.  We pretty much spent the entire day yesterday as these two characters.
d.  Lowly the worm {from Busytown Mysteries} and I am Hilda the Hippo.
e.  Uncle Si {from Duck Dynasty} and I am usually "Driver Girl" = Sadie or "Yellow Girl" = Jessica or "Pink Girl" = Missy.  {Side note:  Some of Nathan's favorite Si quotes are, "Durn right you, you heifer," or "I'm gettin' OUT!" which I'm not even sure that's Si, but the mannerisms fit, because as he says it, he forces his hand out in a tomahawk fashion.  Others are, "I'm not doin' it!" or "He gowne!"
f.  Caden/Christian and everyone else is assigned to be the remaining members of the Custer clan.

3.  His favorites things to watch right now are Busytown Mysteries, Thomas the Train, and Berenstain Bears.  When I've had enough of those things, he will settle for Duck Dynasty.

4.  On my half day of work, I came home and was going to change clothes so that we could play trains, per his request.  I told him I was gonna change and then I'll be right back to play.  He said, "Can you leave that one on so it can look wonderful?" as he reached out and touched my shirt.  I had a shirt on that was fluffy/decorative around the neckline and he didn't want me to take that one off.  :)

5.  He was playing at Caden and Christian's house and Nathan was eating a pretzel.  He said to Ziggy, "No Begging."  Then, he continued to eat, commenting to Esther that, "He looks nervous."

6.  To Dave, he said, "I'm playin' with your fur," referring to arm/leg hair.

7.  Nathan was pretending to hop on a pogo stick.  I told him what a good job he did and that he went for a while!  I asked him how many he did {how many bounces} and he said, "I did 5-teen."

8.  Nathan was playing trains and started making one of them go in circles.  He did it in such a fashion that he had to go in circles, too.  After the spinning stopped, he dizzily said, "I feel my house is gonna tip over!"

9.  He decided he was done "comsploding" rats and was going to put his gun/bat away.  He said he was going to put it in a "soup-case."

10.  He was talking about some character...probably Too Tall {from Berenstain Bears} or Billy Baxter and he said, "He's a lot of mean."

11.  Mama and Daddy bought Nathan a Busytown Airport game.  There are many pieces and characters and airplanes and he loves it!  He told Mimi, "I'm happy about this game."

12.  At the breakfast bar at Mama and Daddy's house, Nathan said something so softly that I couldn't hear it.  I think he meant for me not to hear it.  Anyway, I asked him to repeat it and he said, "I didn't say something," meaning he didn't say anything.

13.  Conversation between Mimi and Nathan:
Mimi:  Nathan, do you need to go pee-pee?
Nathan:  No
Mimi:  When was the last time you went?
Nathan:  {With a funny expression} Oh, last Tuesday or Wednesday.

14.  Mama made some biscuits and Nathan had never had any before.  I asked him if he wanted one and he said, "I don't know biscuits."

15.  After inspecting a wrinkle in Daddy's chin, Nathan said, "Granddaddy, you might have a crack."
